I'm getting ready to purchase an 05 CLK 320 and was told that there was a 3 hr labor charge on both my SIRUS satellite radio (value $679 + labor) and the six-spoke rim upgrade ($1992 + labor). I think my salesman is full of crap, as every 05 is prewired for SIRUS and there is no way I'm paying $4571 (their quote) for $2671 in upgrades
. BTW....the standard tires fit both the standard rim and the six spoke rim. Any advice?

Yes, there's a labor charge to install things purchased after the fact.Originally Posted by thornhill26

The "prewiring" for Sirius only saves about 10 minutes of install time, because the antenna wire doesn't need to be run, and the power and fibre optic wires don't need to be run. This really only would take 10 minutes; by contrast removing the trunk liners, removing other brackets and mounting new controllers and brackets, and DRILLING THE HOLE IN THE TRUNK really takes the most amount of time. (Assuming you are getting a coupe, the cab doesn't require drilling the hole in the trunk.)
If you were in the SF Bay Area, installing the Sirius in a "stealth" fashion would cost you $950 (no visible antenna and no holes in trunk). Then the $2000 in wheels could be mounted for $200 labor (just a reputable shop I know, no doubt other people know of reputable places for less money).
So you may want to try to just buy your parts and do your labor charges elsewhere.
