Unhappy 2004 CLK240 remote not locking/unlocking

Hi guys first post here, would really appreciate the help. Also hope it helps out people in the future.

I've got a 2004 CLK240 Coupe. Have had it for about three months now. It's been good.
Not sure if its a coincidence, one day after getting the windows tinted, the car stopped responding to the remote both Radio frequency and infrared. Central locking only operates from the button in the centre console. It was ceramic tint and this shop had brand new Mercs and Porsches getting tints done.

The last two week, I feel like I have searched through every single forum post, I've checked the following:

-remote is working, checked IR via camera
-No 8 fuse in thunk and other related fuses
-connections in both c-pillers to the antenna.
-dis-reconnect main battery

The Benz specialist near me is booked out for two months so I took it to a Euro car specialist mechanic. After 1-hour of diagnosing he said its most likely the driver door lock actuator/module.

Does that sound right you?

Could that stop the whole remote central locking system from working?
Thank you.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
The top few inches of the rear windshield, above the headliner, has the antenna amp system bonded to it. Quite often window tint shops will use tools to tuck their tint film above the headliner. In doing so, they "stab" into the antenna amp and either detach it from the glass or damage it. Unfortunately, there is not a good repair for this. A new amp and labor to install it will likely cost more than the value of the car.

Hi Ruduney,

Really appreciate your input. I have read that RF antenna is about $1500 to replace, the car is would about $7000(AUD). Definitely not spending that much.

I want try out an independent Benz workshop that's rated 5/5. See what they say...

If no good, I'll try to get an aftermarket solution.

I'll keep the forum posted.

Thank you again.
