My CLK turns off ( runs out of fuel probably ) even though the fuel gauge shows
Hey Guys,
i have a problem with my CLK 270 CDI 2004 it turns off even though the fuel gauge shows i have fuel .....
it turns off probably runs out of fuel because i see there is no fuel going in the fuel filter i fill it up again and after couple of tries its alive again
but the fuel gauge showing me that i have like 3 or 4 lines of fuel ( digital gauge )
happened to me couple of times its kind of annoying..
Thanks

Sounds like it is perhaps your fuel tank pump. I don't know how the tank/s is configured on the 270 but my 550 has saddle tanks and are about 50/50. Fuel to the engine is pulled from one of the saddle tanks. There is a pump that moves fuel from the second tank to the engine supply tank. For the 550 my fuel gage was at about 1/2 when it just shut down. Had to replace the fuel tank sensor and pump. In the interim to getting it repaired, just keep the tank filled between 60 and 100%.
