Problem with MAF sensor
Hello i am new to the forum and i would like to share my story and listen for an answer to my problem. The past 5 months my car was started to having a bad fuel economy and poor idling while in stop and under load (with ac on) with lots of shakes noticeable from the drivers seat. Firstly i believed that my problem was a clocked throttle so i open it and clean it (though it was clean). After that i remove the plug from the maf sensor while engine was on and i didnt notice any difference on idling and the problem was persist. I pull out the maf sensor for cleaning though was also clean as the throttle body. No CEL on board while maf plug was on either when i pull it off. Also i didnt try amy OBD for troubleshooting. Can anyone help?

I had the same exact issue on my CLK500
My car would shake on idle, hesitate to accelerate when pressing the gas pedal and would even shut off at a stop light.
I tried cleaning the MAF with MAF cleaner and nothing worked.
I ended up getting a new MAF and that solved all my problems.
Get an OEM MAF, don’t get any aftermarket options

And don;t buy from Amazon or eBay - they are full of fakes even thought they claim to be genuine MBZ or Bosch. Buy from a reputable parts specialist like AutohauzAZ, FCP Euro, Pelican, RM European, etc.
