Shifter lever won't shift from N back to R and P
I don't know if this is a coincidence, but I did removed the ashtray, HVAC panel, headunit simply to connect the NAV antenna and after I assembled all back - shifter lever won't go from N to R (and obviously P).
I ran the diagnostic and it shows "Shift lock" - Active. I double check the microswitch by the brake pedal - lights turn on when pedal depressed.
Any clues? All connectors connected to she shifter assembly. No codes in the system.
Also can't remove the keys from the lock because lever doesn't go to P.

Also when I’m depressing the brake pedal - it’s status changes in the diagnostic which says - it’s not a problem with the brake micro switch.

When I switch between N and D (the only ones available now) - it’s showing the respective letters on the cluster.
I read somewhere that there is an override lever on the shifter assembly. I found it, it when I’m pressing on it - nothing changes. I also don’t feel that this override lever pressing on something. Do you know if it is the mechanical (doesn’t feel any mechanica behind it) or electrical override?
I also found a bunch of coins everywhere in the car including ashtray etc., so I’m wondering what if the coin falled into the shifter assembly and
simply blocking it..

Ok, fixed the problem. The chrome bezel around the shifter handle had clips, and one of the clips broke and fall all the way down into the shifter assembly. I wasn’t lazy and removed the assembly, disassembled it till the last screw and found this frickin particle blocking the interlock lever. In the very bottom of assembly.
I was under the impression that shifter assembly is the one who “shout” into the system what gear the vehicle is - and apparently it’s not. The one who tells what the gear is is the transmission itself (TCU).
