Oil Filter Housing Oil Leak - tips

On my 2007 CLK 350 I had an oil leak from the oil filter housing and so replaced the housing and cooler assembly with a new genuine MB part, including gasket. I paid a lot of attention to preparing the gasket surface where the housing mounts to the front of the block. But i now still have a very slight leak from the new housing - this time from one of the bolt holes in the middle of the housing (i.e. not the perimeter). The new MB housing came pre-fitted with the new gasket, so I didn't remove it from the housing groove. Everythnig was torqued up as per WIS spec.I am about to remove the new housing and try again with another new MB gasket - but looking for tips please from anyone who has had a similar problem. Don't mind too much doing it twice, but keen to avoid three times!
