2002 clk430 transmission issue
I have a 2002 CLK430 automatic, and today after starting the car would not shift out of 1st gear. I tried to shift manually and also put the car in neutral but there was no change. I put the car in park and restarted and everything was fine. Is this an electrical problem or a transmission issue.

You have a W208, so you might get better specific help for your car in that forum, but since the same transmission was used in the W209 (and may other MBZ cars), I'll respond here. It sounds like your transmission has gone into limp mode. This is often due to a problem with a plastic part inside called the conductor plate. It contains several sensors as well as the interface between the hydraulic valves inside the transmission and the TCU. With a proper scan tool that can read MBZ codes (not a generic OBDII code reader) you can find out what is wrong.
