Help - Dashboard glowing red when locked
Hi all,
I have searched everywhere and cannot find a reason/solution for this. About a minute after locking my CLK 320 the centre circular display on the dash glows a faint red, as if there's a backlight on. I have scanned the OBD for fault codes, but there are none.
Any ideas?

Own 2005 CLK500, but drive 2011 Sienna :)
I would assume the instrument cluster is glitching. If you can find a temporarily cluster (e.g. from junk yard) to hook up - you can see if the same issue will be replicated on the replacement cluster (I think it will not). If not - replace the cluster and have someone to transfer all the information from the old cluster into the replacement one.

2008 CLK 350 Convertible
Your note solved my 08 CLK350 issues. A check engine light turned on but disappeared on restart, Nav claimed turn by turn was not available. Nav and audio prompts in the cluster were missing (---). Radio stayed on when the key was removed. Cranking seemed weak..but always started. My mechanic replaced the battery and it fixed everything...much to the mechanics surprise.
