P0128 Replace Coolant?

I got the CEL and had it scanned and got P0128 - thermostat. I bought the part from FCP EURO. I am trying to decide whether to replace the coolant now or top off. I have about 140k miles on the car and have not ever replace all the coolant. I did have a radiator hose leak a while ago, but only topped off the fluid.

So, should I go ahead and replace all the coolant?

Thanks.

Wow... Then you are way way over due then. This should be done before the 100k mile mark...

Thanks. I will have it done. BTW, according to my manual it is due at 143k miles or 15 years.

Would you let anything go 143k miles or 15 years on your car? A jug of MB coolant costs 20 to 30 dollars and a gallon of distilled water costs 1 dollar. The radiator drain is under the car on the front passenger side.

This forum has, for the most part, recommended that we follow the maintenance schedule provided by the manufacturer.

Have to remember it is not just the miles but age as well. That is a long time IMHO. I usually do mine every 5 years or so. Milage depending. The whole sealed for life stuff does not fly with me. But thats me. I will have to look in my manual 140k miles or 15 years just seems crazy to me.
