Door pin replacement

Hi! I have a 2004 CLK500, with the Keyless Go (if it matters), and got a pair of nifty aluminum door pins. How do I take out my doorpins and replace them wiht these new ones? Do they unscrew? Do I have to take off my door panel?

Also.. I put in a cellphone holder - is there a way to tap into a constant 12V source with my cig-lighter adapter so my phone can charge at all times near the passanger footrest?

Thanks!

No, you do not have to take out the door panels. Just unscrew the stock pins.

Although it wont use up a lot of battery, I dont think you should tap into a CONSTANT 12V power source. And I think the cigarette lighter power source will turn off when your car is turn off also.

2004 CLK500, 78 6.9,
I got the pins from formymercedes.com. They look really good, but what looks awesome on my CLK500 is the burlwood trim for the glovebox. It looks really good, and passengers comment on it everytime they see it. I also got from his website the illuminated door sills (which I have to wait a couple of weeks for).

I guess I can post a pic of that glovebox trim later on.

I just replaced mine with aluminum pins & here is how I removed the old ones. I rolled down the window and took a thin rag to wrap around the original pin & was able to twist them with my hands. It was on very tightly, but using the rag as protection, I was able to remove them.
