I assume its the W209 in the pic above and W208 on the pic below? Just from the headlights/tailights.

Nice Wheels!

Those wheels really add to the sporty effect of the cabriolet version. Any word as to whether it will have the folding hardtop as rumored? Also any indication that 4-Matic will be available as an option?

The mass of metal spokes in the wheels seem to pull down and narrow the otherwise bulbous proportions that are less atractive on the CLK coupe version. Just look at the drawing of the coupe at the same time you look at the photo of the cabriolet by scrolling halfway down to the second post.

Original source?

Phybenz, can you advise where one can locate the cabriolet photo? Is it an official photo from Mercedes available on one of their websites?

The rear end doesn't look too attractive compare to the current one I would say

Unhappy hmmmm

Initial impression is that it does not look as nice as the current 208 model. The lines seem rather awkward and the rear is not very flattering....having said that I will reserve final judgement till I see the car "in the flesh."

We should get a better idea of the new CLK as it debuts on the streets in Europe tomm [4th of May]. Maybe our european friends can tell us how they feel

IMO the current 208 is aggressive and is best characterized as a "german muscle car." That's what I love about it. The 209, for all its technical improvements, is styled more like a luxury coupe. I'm sure there will be those that prefer the conservative, less intimidating look of the new CLK, however, for me, the 208 is the only Mercedes that ever caught my attention. Even the new SL doesn't do it for me. I have considered getting an SL 55 and doing some custom work for my next car, however, after seeing it in person, I'm thinking that the better route will be to get a 360 Modena F1 and jack it up with a Koenig twin turbo.

I was going to say the same thing... the drawing for the 209 in that pic seems out of proportion.
