Transmission Stuck in Park
Transmission Stuck in Park
Hi,
My other half (some would say better!) was driving the car home yesterday, got to our house, went to swing the car around and reverse into a cul-de-sac to put the car forward into the drive. When she stopped the car to reverse she accidentally put it into Park.
The problem was she then couldn't get it out of Park at all. It was stuck in it. Called MB on the phone and they didn't have a clue. The neighbours came out, suggested a few things, then stopped the engine, locked the car, unlocked the car, tried again and at first it still wouldn't budge. Then all of a sudden it popped out of Park and it was absolutely fine.
Any ideas about this?
I've heard that the auto transmissions are sensitive to water and that can cause a transmission to lock in Park. However, there wouldn't have been any water in the car as food/drink is banned
Is this just one of those electrical gremlins....?
Cheers
Paul
