'Check Engine' light is ON. What does it mean?
While I was driving back yesterday, I noticed that the 'check engine' light on my car suddenly illuminate and continue to stay on until now. Does anyone has an explanation so as to what causes this? Driving wise, it is the same before and after the light illuminate. Thanks.

Check and make sure your gas cap is on firmly

I inadvertently left my gas cap off after a quick fuel stop, a malfunction came on after a few miles actually indicating "fuel cap".

What was the final outcome?

Thats cool, I didn't know they did that. Saves screwing up the fuel system by driving around all day with the cap off.

The dealer told me the light is on due to the fuel cap is not put back properly. My 'check engine' light is off now. Thanks guys.
