Fog lights flash

Question everyone. Just connected my fog lights up and decided to turn the fog lights on. Once the switch is turned on, the fog lights simultaneously flash 3 times and then stop. Any idea what the problem can be? Also, I noticed there are two settings with the fog lights. You pull the switch out once and then put the switch out again. What is the purpose for that?

Are your fog lamps OE or have they been modified with LED lamps? If LED that flashing then off could be due to the loading/current draw if the load resistors are open or otherwise defective.

I don't recall what I have in mine, but they were a real pain to get in and operational. Whatever I have did not lock into the housing as advertised and I had to rig it to get them yo stay in place.

What you have may be ok. Did you check for load resistors on them and if they are ok. I am not sure what the resistance reading should be (probably 50-100 ohms).

If you replace them, i suggest going to an OE distributor like Pelican, id the OE, see if they carry a LED replacement, if so get it. If not copy pic of OE and try to find LED ones that have the exact connect taps and location.
