2006 CLK 350 won't shut off

Ok so my CLK350 decided it doesn't want to shut off. I pulled the fuel pump fuse that did the trick

In searching for this problem only things that come up are with diesels.

Some more digging possibly a vacuum problem?

Anyone have an idea?

Thanks

I think if the switch is truly off, the car can not run. The ECU would see that the switch is off, the car is not moving, and the car is not in gear and discontinue sending control signals for fuel and spark. I would look at the ignition switch assembly.

Thanks I'll look in to that. Someone local also suggested a CANBUS issue.

I don't know how to troubleshoot the CANBUS. You may need SDS. If you can get the signal and pinout of the ignition switch you can find out if the "ignition on" signal is staying on and the switch is the problem. If not, then the signal may be locked on within the CANBUS.

Maybe one of the GURUs on this forum can help. If not, see if you can find one elsewhere.
