Electrical issues / losing power to accessories
I have a 2005 CLK 500 cabrio that runs great except for the past few weeks, there has been a weird intermittent electrical issue that has been going on (possible voltage regulator going bad?? ) and I have not been able to pinpoint on own. No CEL or malfunction codes on the cluster.
Usually what happens is (most of the time) after a cold start and sometimes while on the road, my radio shuts off and then restarts on its own, i can't control the power windows and the daytime running lights turn on on their own even if it's really bright outside (selector is on auto). I have also noticed the interior lights and cluster would be flickering on a normal basis as well. Could it be a voltage regulator that is going bad or a short-circuit somewhere that is causing all these issues? I would like to know where I should be looking first.. Thank you!
I was also able to pull the codes (all are historic) from and iCarsoft Pro scanner:
ESP - Electronic Stability Program
C1038 - Engine control module not identified or incorrect control module
C1022 - CAN communication with the engine system is faulty
C1210 - Terminal 30 undervoltage
C1014 - Y10(SPS solenoid valve): Electrical fault
IC - Instrument Cluster
B112E - The control module is faulty (ROM: read error)
C-AAC - Convenience Automatic Air Conditioning, Automatic Heater
B1211 - The supply voltage of the control module is too high (overvoltage)
DCM_L - Door Control Module Left
B1011 - N69/1(Left door control module): The supply voltage of the control module is too high (overvoltage)
B120D - M21/1h1(Automatic dimming mirror): Short circuit
DCM_R - Door Control Module Right
B1011 - N69/2(Right door control module): The supply voltage of the control module is too high (overvoltage)
LCP - Lower Control Panel
9031 - The supply voltage of the control module is too high (overvoltage)
OCP - Overhead Control Panel
B1002 - The supply voltage of the control module is too high (overvoltage)
UCP - Upper Control Panel
9036 - Control module N72/1 (Upper control panel control module) has detected overvoltage

Also, clear all codes before doing this. If any reappear, they will indicate what is wrong now, rather than in the past.
Good luck, and let us know how this goes.

Looks like the numbers are within normal range??
Usually the issue occurs on a cold start, it hasn’t happened yet, but I’ll report again when it does.. Thanks again
