Passenger Sunvisor Flap broken
Good evening, members,
Unfortunately, today, the flap to the passenger side sunvisor (LHS) of my CLK 500 broke. The pin snapped. I suppose being a 13 year old car, this was bound to happen.
Question: Can one replace the flap or would one have to purchase a complete new sunvisor?
Part number? I have a 2007 CLK 500 facelift (550 for my friends in the States). It’s a RHD.
I’m also assuming that this sunvisor is shared with a W203 saloon/estate/coupe?
Any leads to spares (besides the dealers), in which I can look?
Thanking you,
Alexis

First - thank-you for answering a long time question
and that is do they put those dumb *** warning stickers
on the visors in Europe -
I have thought several times about ordering visors from
Europe because I have been told that you people are
smart enough that you don't need the government telling
you how to stay safe -
I now know the your government thinks of you the same
way our government thinks of us -
My driver side visor is now with a burnt out bulb that would
light up when you lift the flap in question -
I could find nothing on line about replacing the bulb so I
stopped by the dealer and was informed that if I wanted the
light to work I would have to purchase a new visor as the
bulb is not replaceable -
I have been debating ordering a new one or going to the
recycling yard to find a used one in great condition -
I would guess that you are in the same boat unless
you find someone on the forum who is parting out a CLK
with your color interior -
Good luck either way -
Thank-You

Would anyone on the group be able to advise on the above post and if a W203 C-Class flap door or the sunvisor, fits onto a W209 CLK Coupe?
Thanks in advance.
KInd regards,
Alexis

I do not believe there are any "non-replaceable" bulbs on a Mercedes.
Anyway, you could always buy a 2nd hand visor on eBay, and use the flap only, even if it's a different color.
One of my cars had the same problem, and I fixed it by gluing a piece of thick wire to the inside of the flap, to replace the broken hinge bit. It is not visible when mounted. That plastic gets brittle over time, and breaks easily.
Good luck.
