new clk sold in the UAE
I think I know what it is now....love the front, the interior is ok, but that back is just way too elongated looking for a coupe

I didn't like the car before very much when I first saw it. Now, I think the front of it is hot, as well as the inside. The rear still has some getting used to, reminds one very much of a Toyota Solara. And the arrow white signals?? What's up with that? Maybe when we see it in person.

The Abu Dhabi showroom is quite impressive! Originally posted by nabzy

I agree with your comments. The 3/4 rear shot distortion exacerbates the possible design shortcoming in terms of proportional relationships of the back portion however.
These rear lights just don't belong on the new CLK.

last monday, i had the privilage of driving the first CLK500 avantgarde delivered and my impressions are as follows:
The exterior will probably grow on you, its cute and round. But i'm certain it would look outstanding with the AMG kit and 18 inchers, which can be ordered now. Strangely enough, the AMG mufflers cannot be ordered until mid or late june i was told.
This 500 had 17 inchers that looked great. And i must admit, the avantgarde in Black looks awsum.
The interior of the avantgarde is absolutely breathtaking. Carbon and aluminium trims round off its beautiful anthracite interior. I'm glad carbon look has come back, just like the pre 2000 SPORT versions.
Driving it was even better, this baby is soooo nimble. Great initial torque and handling is unbelievable. Although i had to take it easy, after all it was brand new!
The only thing i didnt like about it was that stupid seatbelt arm that creeps up behind your shoulders everytime u start the car. ITS SOOOO ANNOYING!!!!!
There also was a CLK320 Azurite blue with cream interior and a CLK240 in silver and orion grey. I didnt care about them after laying my eyes on the 500!
My conclusion...... god help us when the 55 comes over. The dealers are expecting one in sometime in beginning of july, just in time for the bahrain motor show!

I'ts the angle of the Picture that makes the rear end look elongated. Notice that in the other pic the front end looks elongated. I've seen the car in the flesh. If anything the front end looks more prominent than the rear.
