2004 CLK 500 Fog Lamp Issue

Hello.

I apologize in advance if I am posting in the wrong place.

I own a 2004 CLK 500 Sport. I loaned the car to my son (I know, big mistake) and he must have hit something because when I got it back, the front passenger rim was cracked (already repaired), and the rear headrests were in the up position (already fixed as well).

The last item is that the front passenger fog light has come off its mount. The grille is in place and not damaged. When I remove the grille, I can "place" the fog lamp where it goes, and it stays in place, but the slightest touch and it falls back down. I looked at the driver side fog light (not damaged) and it does not move if I touch it. Is there something missing from the passenger side light that won't hold it in place when placing back in the receptors?

Also, the passenger side fog lamp has what looks like a sensor, does it attach to the front bumper assembly? There seems to be a hole where it would fit in.

Many thanks in advance for any help you provide.

The fog lamp assembly has a few locations where it attaches to the chassis by screws and they may be broken now; you can see those attachment points in the first photo. You would need to buy a replacement fog lamp in good condition, go under the car, remove the splash shields, and install the fog lamp. The sensor you mentioned is the temperature sensor and its location is a hole in the front grill surrounding the fog light; you can see how its installed in the second photo.
