2004 CLK 500
New CLK 500 owner

Hey guys, first post, new goer here on MBworld. Just picked up a 2004 CLK 500 today. Car sat for close to 10 years but was kept inside and ran and drove well all day today. Few things.

-engine fan worked but does not anymore. Car went up in temp and I shut it down, didn’t overheat. Any ideas?
-radio works, can change between stations, but no sound at all. No sound for CD’s or anything else.
-leaking washer fluid reservoir, common or is it cracked and need to be replaced? Not sure if maybe there’s a gasket or some nonsense before I tear into it.
-windows don’t always go back up into the door when the door closes, front and back windows. Any ideas?
-FYI my battery is dead dead. It runs after a jump with two jumper packs. I know some cars are dependent on the batteries, is this one of those cars? Should I get this battery replaced and some problems will go away?

thanks I’m advance for any help, here’s some pics!!

Welcome to the W209. I do miss my old 2004 CLK500. I would replace the battery first and for the windows it may have to be reprogram due to the dead battery (search the forums) It's been few years since I traded my W209. You may have to reprogram all the windows and moonroof as well after you get the battery replace. Just be aware of the alarm siren it will kick in.

Battery was replaced. Car runs the same. As for the windows, I performed the relearn and that fixed the problem. The radiator fan still isn’t working. The radio not working is due to the OEM amp being replaced with an aftermarket unit, assuming the aftermarket unit has failed.

Still looking for answers for the reading or fan issue! TIA

Radiator fan not working can be multiple of issues like
  • Thermostat is stuck open
  • Faulty fan relay
  • Blown fuse, loose or corroded connectors
