Help

Do you have to go through the truck to remove the rear seat backs I have a 2003 clk 500 that the truck won't open the previous owner tried to open it by removing the 3rd brake light and messing with the truck handle so that's all disconnected but I'm thinking of I remove the seats I can crawl in and access the latch from the inside if anyone has any suggestions I would be more than happy to hear them

I've removed every bolt I could see but there still seems to be something else holding it in place

Hey I saw you posted in my old thread about removing the rear seats.
I'm 99% sure you have to come in through the trunk to get the bolts the seat-backs hinge off of. unless you could get up under them with the lower seat removed (as you already did)
Once you get the nut off that lower hinge the seats will pull out if you fight with them.

Sorry this was like 6 years ago and i'm trying to remember.

I did this last summer and I think you have to pull back the trunk liner, remove the plastic cover. There are bolts behind the seat that you need to remove with the seats down. Once the seats are loose you need to pull the seats away from the hinges - pulling the longer seat away first is easiest.

There is a thread on this that I followed. Should be searchable.

I was able to undo the nut on the longer seat that's under the plastic in the trunk by prying between the seats and using a long extension but there still seems to be something else holding the seat back I've seen some pictures of the seats removed and there was like latches or something holding them how do you unlatch those
