Rear windows not drop when opening the front door

My rear window, driver-side, goes up and down normally. The problem is that when I open the front door, it does not drop and pull back. So when I close the front door, it hits the rear. If I manually push the rear window down and back then close the front door, the rear pulls up and to the front perfectly. This is the 2006 Benz CLK 500 2-door convertible. Where do I begin to fix it? The opening of the front door working to what thing to make the rear window dropped and back?
Another question is that do I need to uninstall the convertibles to repair the rear window?
Thank you for any help.

Dr. Docco,

not sure if this remedies your situation but I believe there is a procedure to re-set the windows. Of course I can’t remember steps, but it may be as simple as raising and lowering all the windows to the fully open and closed position.

someone else on the forum may chime in. Happened to me and the reset fixed it.

The re-set procedure is pretty simple. I don't recall if it works both ways or just one way but it is as follows. You open the window all the way. Next you press window down button again and holding it for a few seconds. It's possible that the same procedure should be when you closing the window (e.g. when closed all the way - you press and hold window close button for a few seconds).

I found the reason. When opening the front door, both the front and rear glass drop. The front glass drops 1/2 inch perfectly while THE REAR GLASS DROP ONLY AROUND 1/5 INCH.
HOW TO ADJUST TO MAKE THE REAR GLASS DROP MORE? Note that when closing the front door, the rear glass up-movement is perfect.

Dr. Docco,

did you do what HETP suggested? You could always drive to a dealer or good Indy shop and speak with someone in the parts department. They’ll go and speak with a shop technician. To me it still sounds like a window re-set issue. I had the identical situation. But, it could always be something else.

Also when the window is half-way open - wiggle it up and down with your hands. If it's loose (has a quote a bit of free play) - your window regulator is shot.
