CLK350 W209 throwing P0123, P0222, P2135 and no acceleration
- P0123 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A circuit High Input
- P0222 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "B" Circuit Low input
- P2135 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A/B Voltage Correlation
I'm comfortable with changing the throttle position sensor if it's bad, but what is the pedal position sensor? Is that the accelerator pedal? Are there multiple sensors and the code isn't specific enough to tell me which the problem is? I'm worried that my gas may be a little old. Could there be something else that is failing that is causing a false positive for the TPS?
I tried resetting the accelerator pedal position sensor with the following steps:
- Turn the ignition key to the on position.
- Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for five seconds.
- Turn the key to the "off" position and I did not remove the key, then release the gas pedal.
- Wait at least two minutes - don't do anything.
I just don't know where to start. If there are a few easy things I can try before buying and replacing parts. This car wasn't driven in months because I just don't go anywhere anymore and when I do, I take another vehicle. If I can get this thing up and running, I will probably sell it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
