Please help!!!!
Hello everyone, have a problem with my car 06 clk350 convertible, when I park the car and it’s off I hear a noise like working fan or pump in the rear end under fuel cap and wheel, next day the battery it’s dead completely, I think that is fuel pump or relay that keeps working and drains the battery, does anyone have experience with that, i’m diy mechanic can replace the pump but wanna make sure

1st think to check is battery. They are very sensitive to battery voltage and if the battery starts getting old it can cause all sorts of funny things to happen. Mine was thermo fan switching on and flattening the battery instead of what yours is doing.
An easy test is turn your key to the first click or equivalent if you have keyless go. Make sure temperature or speed is displayed. Press reset button 3 times fast. Puts it into work shop mode. You can the see voltage. Start the car to see cranking voltage and running charge rate.
Sitting it shouldn’t be below 12.4v, definitely not below 12v. Cranking shouldn’t drop below 11v. Charging should be above 14v.
