08 CLK350...JUST OUT OF THE BODY SHOP FROM SOME CRACKHEAD RUNNING A RED LIGHT

Car had been sitting for some time; battery died, then recharged. When I picked up the car I found a collection of instrument panel problems. However, the car does run, my air conditioning works well, the radio works, turn signals, steering wheel functions work as well. Cigarette lighter works.

WHAT DOES NOT WORK: Cabriolet top (when started, display reads that the car is moving and cannot open. Temp. guage in white, followed by temp guage in red, pull over, stop, even tho everything works including coolant fan. temp guage is at maximum even tho car is cold; gas guage is at over half, but gas reserve light is on. tach does not register, not sure abt speedo yet; abs and other warnings in white. Have not had a chance to check headlights yet. And of course, the check engine light is on. Prior to body shop....all worked fine. SRS light had been on.

I intend to take it in and have the battery tested first, even tho it starts immediately and locks and windows all operate.

My cheapo code reader says "no communication with instrument cluster" otherwise no other codes

Any help or guidance would b appreciated.

The FUYAA wont work-----get a good scan and take the car back to the AH that worked on the car
