Anyone for price guessing ?

CLK 55 base with destination 71.5k
CLK 500 base with destination 52.5k
CLK 320 base with destination 44k
metallic paint 655
nav cd package 150
distronic 2900
parktronic 1150
ski sack 200
comand 2100
multicontour seats 750
heated front seats 650
keyless go 1000
K3 - sunroof, rear shade 1100
K4 - bi-xenons, washers 1100
K2b - phone/cd 2100
K2c - phone/voice cd 2500
951(320 only) - appearance package 1750 (a real guess)
special order leather (500 only) - 1150
that means a fully loaded CLK 320 will go for $60,005
that means a fully loaded CLK 500 will go for $66,755 and with special order leather $67,905
Finally a CLK 55 will go for $82,600 - This price was reached taking into account that metallic paint, multicontour seats, heated front seats and the K3 package should come standard.
Those prices do seem high compared to the old model, but take into account there are more options to add, distronic is an almost 3k killer that I dont see many prospective clk owners ordering and my base price maybe off 1-2k......but I do think I am in the ballpark
What do you guys think ?
Great analysis & MSRP for new CLK prognosis.
I just wonder, if the IG Metall union wildcat strikes against most German car mfrs. & the electronic industries will have on the MB MSRPs?
I think, that another 5-10 % might have to be factored into your projections.

The German economy is the world's third largest, and accounts for about
one-third of Euroland's GDP. It is the United States' largest European trading
partner and fifth largest global partner.
German workers are on average among the highest paid in the world and enjoy
generous social welfare and unemployment benefits. Considering an
unemployment rate of 10 %, skilled workers in many industries however are in
short supply.
Considering that Germany's principal exports worldwide - and particularly to the
U.S. - are motor vehicles, these IGM union strikes are having a negative global
impact and the potential of causing all kinds of anxieties/disruptions of auto
delivery schedules on a global scale.
I would imagine that the prices on the new 209 should be close to the current models maybe a little bit higher. But ofcourse once it hits the dealers then premium is always attatched at the beggining.
The 820,000 metalworkers in Baden-Wuerttemberg will receive a total of 7.1 % additional income in two steps:
1. On June 1, 2002 4 % and
2. on June 1, 2003 3.1 %.
The strikes will continue in the Berlin-Brandenburg region.
This was reported in DIE WELT, 5/16/2002 - tomorrow's edition.

How much of an impact the 7.1 % wage increase will have on the 2003 MBs MSRP is self-evident.
Many dealerships will not sell over sticker. Whenever I give a deposit I have them put it in writing with the buyers order including my spot in line as well as projected build/delivery dates.
Cheers, BT
