2004 CLK 320 Cab Transmission Problems

Good day to all, just got my first MB and just joined.

The car is in C mode and would have a jerky feeling as it moved from 2nd to 3rd and third to 4th. This was especially noticeable when driving slow. When I was heavy on the gas it was not really noticeable. The rpm’s did not appear to change and it did not feel like a tranny that was slipping. If felt like it was having problems deciding when to switch gears and seems confused. It just was not smooth.

Now yesterday a new problem presented itself. I was driving the car and came to a stop, when I went to go it acted like it was in neutral and just revved the engine but was still in D. I also tried to switch the gears manually but that did not work either. I ended up putting it in P and back to D with no change. I than put it in P and turned it off and back on. It now worked when in D. This happened twice yesterday so now the car is parked in my garage. It also threw a check engine light while all of this was going on.

I have ordered a iCarsoft Multi-System MB V2.0 to help read the codes. If there is a better choice let me know. I will also look for tranny fluid intrusion on the TCU. Do you think I also need to be looking at trans conductor plate?

A big thanks to all for your time and help.
