Brake fluid flush and hoses $400!!!
I took my CLK350 with 150k miles to my Indy to get the brake fluid replaced and new hoses put on. I provided the fluid and hoses. When he called to say it was ready for pickup, he said it was going to be $400!! When I asked why it was so high, he said the mechanic had an awful time getting the connections loose. He said they were corroded and had to be careful not to damage the fittings. I was hoping for less than $100.... oh well.
BTW, I read here somewhere that it is a good idea to replace the hoses as a preventative thing...

What is the labor rate in your area?
If the shop said it was hard then 2 hours might be a reasonable estimate?
My experience is that replacing hoses can either be easy or a real pain. Generally age of car, whether it was driven in the wet / salty roads and mileage all play a part.
