Brittle electrical connectors on wiring harness. Any suggestions?

2007 CLK350 w/175,000 miles on it. Just replaced the intake manifold, cam sensors, adjusters and the spark plugs.

Took extreme care unplugging all the connectors during the operation, but some were so brittle that just squeezing them broke the lock tabs. I now have 4 connectors without any lock tabs. Everything works and the car runs sweet, but I'm worried that the connectors may come loose, probably at the least convenient time possible.

Is there such a thing as a tight "connector jacket" or should I try criss/cross zip ties? I briefly thought of glue, but shudder at the next operation. Any other ideas?
