Nice car no denying it. I looked at the 6 before I bought the CLK500 I was a former owner of BMW's 540's and 530's since 97. I defected and traded in my 530i for a CLK500. I feel that the first pre-requisite to me buying a car are the overall looks. The '97-2003 time-period was ruled by BMW. Clean lines and classic design for all their model cars. Sorry, but I think that the designers over at BMW went too controversial for my tastes, especially in the rear ends of the 7,5 and even the 6 series. I hear the 3 is being designed the same way. I think the car is ugly with a very gaudy feel when you look at the car from the side. I also think that the IDrive concept went way out there. I am not singular in these beliefs. Almost every professional automotive reviewer worldwide has stated those same thoughts to one degree or another. It's got to hurt their sales with defectors such as myself.

Just my opinion.....at any rate enjoy your car!

For me, the 6 looks ok, it's the 5 that I did not like.

Anyway, the major complaint from me is the interior. I was in a 645-coupe 1 few weeks ago and I was surprised how plain it was inside. Despite of its price, no luxury feeling at all. This was one of the reasons I opted for a CLK after I sat in a 530i.

Performance of a BMW may slightly surpass the Mercedes but definitely, the looks, both interior and exterior, I prefer Mercedes.

Have you read the NY Times review of the BMW 645?

Some time in august this year, NY times reviewed the BMW 645, coupe and convertible. I was astonished by how negative the review was. I think the car looks interesting but, from what I remember, the reviewer was critical of almost every aspect of the car.

I really like the appearance of the 645. The 6 series is hands down the best looking BMW. The car looks like a tank and drives like a rocket. The aggressive look really works for that car and I prefer the coupe over the convertible. The 6 get stares every time someone is driving down the street in my area.

I did notice the interior is very small compared to the exterior. But I do like the way the steering wheel feels and it was the first Bimmer I drove that had that new active steering feature. (not that bad after everything I read)

I wish the interior was bigger in the back seat and the price was cheaper. Pillarless windows like the CLK would be a plus too. The 6 is everything opposite of the CLK. The 6 is an out there in your face car while the CLK is a silent assassin.

Congrats!

The coupe looks nice, the convt. looks so-so. The interior could stand some improvment for sure. The engine is a nice piece and has the very latest innovations; the exhaust sure sounds good too.

I'm still confused as to what market its attempting to attack at that price range, its in the more expensive then a clk but not an sl class, all alone. The m6 thought, thats a beautiful beast.
