Driver window problem

The driver side door window on my convertible bumps down when I open the door like it should, but when I close the door it will not bump back up leaving the window down about a 1/2”. I figure there is a switch somewhere that is dirty and not making up ,so the controller doesn’t know the door is closed. Anyone know where to look or how to fix the Problem?

Handy,

try resetting the window settings. I think all you need to do is put all the windows down at once then close all the windows. Search the forum I’ve seen this in the past. Same as you, it worked on my CLK.

Thank you for the response, I have tried this but maybe I never held the button down long enough. Also this is not exactly what my problem is,but may fix my problem. I will give it another try. My car is a convertible, when the door is opened the window is supposed to bump down about a 1/2” to clear the rubber seal and the top. When the door is closed is supposed to go back up on its own without using the switch. This is what’s not working. The glass stays down about 1/2”.

Thanks, IT did fix my problem. I must have not held the switch long enough to reset it the first couple of times. after you replied I went back and tried it again. works like it should now.
