iPod in my CLK
Hey guys -
I want to get an MP3 player hooked up in my CLK500 somehow.. I'd imagine an iPod is one route - does anybody have experience integrating an MP3 player into their car?

This issue has been discussed many times in this forum. Please use the search button but I will try to help you out. If you have the command system in your car, you should have an AUX input in the glove box. YOu can hook up your ipod to that input. Its on the upper right side on the side wall in your glove box. This should answer your question.

Nope, like what he said, I have COMAND and 6-Disc with the iPOD, just buy the auxiliary jack for the iPOD and youll find a little jack on the top right side inside your glove box, just plug it in, and press SVC on your COMAND, go to AUX and you can now use your iPOD from the Auxiliary Source. Only problem is, you still have to charge it, still trying to find a way to hard wire the sucker.

I have a Belkin battery pack that contains (4) AA alkalines and adds 15-20 hours of play time to the Ipod. With the battery pack piggy-back attached, you can still very nicely fit the Ipod into the cavity to the right of the CD changer. A pigtail male-to-male mini-stereo connection can be picked up at Radio Shack.
The other thing you want to do is use the Ipod remote which came with the unit. You're still going to have to pull the Ipod out to program the music, but you can use the remote to manually turn the Ipod on and off when you park the car. Othewise the battery will run down. Stuff the remote into the cavity last, so that when you open the glovebox door, it's right there and you can turn the Ipod on and off without pulling it all out.
It's not the most elegant set-up in the world, but it works OK and when you're underway the whole thing is hidden inside the glove box door.
