Remote locking intermittently not working
Our 2009 CLK 200 sport remote locking has turned a lot more temperamental recently. I have changed the batteries in both of the keys I have for the car, If I charge the battery to full it seems better but the next day will be intermittent at best. The alarm siren does not beep, it is still connected, but the hazard lights do flash when the remote locking does work and fuse 8 is in tact, both keys do open the car when it does work.
I have found the dry solder joint repairs online where you strip the drivers door sensor of the handle & re solder the joints, has anyone tried this & has it worked?
I am going to change the alarm siren unit in the next few weeks and also disconnect the existing unit & try to see how it behaves then.
has anyone tried & found some fixes to solve this common problem?
TIA
