PICTURES OF HEADLINER STRINGS AND STRAPS ON 2004 CLK CABRIOLET
Hi Y'all,
My name is Joe and I own a 2004 CLK500 cabriolet. The headliner strings and straps that pull the headliner taut behind the back window
have become loose and pulled out from where they are routed and attached. Can someone who has a 2002-2005 CLK cabriolet please take and send me
some picture of how the strings and elastic straps are routed and attached to the headliner? I would really appreciate it as I cannot find any diagrams or pictures on-line.
I've looked on youtube and can only find a video of an e-class which has a different layout than my W209 CLK.

Would you post a few shots of the problem areas so we can see what your problem is and the design of your top? I do not know if they changed the top design in the facelift or not. My 2007 might be different. You might show the problem area photos and a general overall shot or two so we can see if they are the same or not.
As much info as possible is always the way to go.
Also, instead of sending pictures to you all this info and pictures would be posted here to help other owners later on.

Wow... I cannot see that area. However, the E class YouTube video sure looks similar.
I would take it to a convertible top shop and get a quote for them to fix it - if you live near metropolitan area that is big enough to have a shop.
