Winter Wheels - Will it Fit?
Hello,
I'm interested in getting a set of dedicated winter wheel and tires for my 2009 CLK 350 with Sport pkg. I want to follow factory spec as closely as possible. From the owner's manual, it wants all 4 tires to be the same size (so no staggered larger wheels for the rear)
The original wheel size on the rear is 8.5 J x 17 H2.
I put these values into an offset calculator and came up with 19mm spacer needed.

Now suppose I buy this wheel (17x7.5 with Offset of 35)

This means I would need 2x 18mm spacers on the rears. This also means the front wheels differ from the factory spec by an offset of 1mm. Does this matter?
With this configuration, can I use the original factory bolts?
Thank you!

I just purchased a set of winter tires per factory specs and wheels with a 35 offset. I ended up using 3mm spacers front and 15mm in the rear. Plus longer bolts for the front setup also. The original bolts were ok for the rear, but if you are going with 19mm, I think you will need longer ones. I had no issues during the test drive. Will have better results once they are in full use.

The front aftermarket wheels needed 3mm spacers because they were too close to the calipers for my taste, plus you have to compensate for the offset which should be 37. The rear wheels are obviously narrower than the stock staggered setup, therefore the 15mm spacers brought the wheels closer to the wheel arches.
