Glovebox issue won’t close
So I have two CLK 350s and my sons glove box won’t close the latches in the downward position so when I pull on the handle the latch or the catch will not come back.
So then I went to my CLK and I did the same thing I pushed down the catch mechanism. That’s actually on the lid and went to release it now mine will not close because the latch is in the stays in lock position. Does anybody know a trick on how to get the glove box catch in the open position in order for it to grab and catch small bar

So I did a video for my son on this and basically what happens is not the latch but the catch that’s attached to the glove box. It falls down. Basically there’s a small piece that pushes up against that you’ve got a pull it backwards with a small screwdriver and then the catch clicks backwards and resets itself to the locking position and then you can close the glove box. It’s pretty simple if you really spend five minutes and pay attention to how it works.

Had a similar issue on all 3 of the CLK’s. My 2009 is at the point where I just don’t even mess with it anymore until I can get around to replacing it entirely. Basically the clip I pried it out with a small flathead and then I shut the glove box and I don’t have a need for it lol.

Glove box issue
I have the same issue on my 04 CLK 320 and ended up hot gluing Velcro to top and bottom to get it to close. Would love to see photos or video of which piece to pry. Thanks! Love this group
