Remote range issue not the battery
OK so as I said in my title, it’s not the battery I know a lot of people gonna go there first but I’m a experience mechanic years ago
So the problem is we seem to have arranged issue where the remote will not work unless I walk up to the where the vent tag is or the side of the door. I’m thinking antenna issue.
Now this does happen on the two original remotes so it’s not a remote issue or a battery issue.
There must be an antenna box or something to that effect that the range has been affected
Now the antenna on the top by the rear windshield it’s black on my 06 cracked on my son was shoveling snow off of it. My understanding is that’s for satellite only. Can anyone confirm where the antenna is or where the signal gets picked up on a 209

Is car a coupe or convertible?
If coupe then the roof antenna is GPS/Sirrus antenna.
The central locking antenna amplifier is stuck to the rear screen, so I guess the elements are in the screen....

Wow, thank you for this information. I appreciate this a lot. I did some research and I think you’re right the siren works so it’s not the corrosion of the siren causing number eight fuse to pop .
I also noticed that my AM radio hits all the stations so I’m not sure if it’s the boost or after all this is a weird one because the remote was working perfectly fine today
