2005 clk500 w209 hesitation/power loss on start up
I've replaced the crank sensor with a bosch sensor that fixed a no start problem. I've done a trans fluid change with buying an upgraded "deeper" pan, the fill tube that came with the pan didn't seem to go to the same height as original pan, I found longer tube that measured the same height as original pan.
It seems the trans doesn't shift correctly, at times stays in lower gear longer than it should but after warm up its good. I used an isoft MB tool to get the correct temp during fill up could it need more fluid?
the hesitation/power loss and transmission problems seem to be related. I read another post about the hesitation will check for air leaks and the maf sensor. the car has 109k miles I've used an catalytic converter cleaner since 103k miles when I bought the car. I don't have any engine codes just an "SOS" that I have yet to take care of.
If you're concerned about the transmission oil level you can always get one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154981749528
Something else to keep in mind, when I bought the car last year it did have a slight blow from one of the middle joints on the exhaust (can't remember if it was just before or just after the cats) that wasn't really too noticeable other than making the cold start slow shifting worse. Significantly improved once I got the exhaust leak sorted.
