GPS cable

Where do I find the cable for the GPS, is it tucked somewhere under the dash somewhere? I have a GPS antenna mounted under the liner on my trunk lid so I assume they ran a cable forward. This is in my '07 CLK350 convertible.

Thanks,
Derek

Since I haven't received any responses to my question is it fair to assume that the GPS cable wasn't run up to the dashboard on a car that didn't originally come with GPS? Again, I do have the GPS antenna on the trunk lid so I would think that they would run the cable at time of manufacture.

Sorry gave information for wrong car....

Is there a cable in the GPS antenna module?

It is odd that you have the GPS antenna without a navigation head unit.

Yes that looks like my gps antenna, mounted on the underside of the trunk lid. I installed a Comand head unit with nav replacing an Audio 20 headunit w/o nav

Any thoughts where I might find the GPS cable that runs from the trunk lid to the head unit? I have retrofitted a Comand head unit in my 2007 CLK350 convertible and tried an aftermarket antenna that isn't working. The car came with the antenna mounted on the underside of my trunk lid and since all the other other unused (telephone etc) wiring was installed at manufacture I assume the GPS cable was put in then too. Does it run under the passenger side (right) door to the dash? Does it terminate somewhere near there like the Aux cable does? What color cable/ends am I looking for?
Thanks,
Derek

The aftermarket GPS antenna probably isnt working as it will not be powered from the head unit. T

They usually are powered via the antenna cable.

It looks like there are two connectors between the antenna and the head unit.
Unfortunately I cant locate them in any document!

Thanks, I have the GPS antenna on the trunk lid and the cables running forward. I plan to pull out the instrument cluster to see if the cable ends there.

Do you have TeleAid system in your car?

This uses GPS to locate your vehicle when you activate it.
The antenna is probably connected there.
If this is the case, there is probably a splitter in the cable

I assume that I do have teleaid, since they had installed it since 2001 but not sure where the component is, would it be under the side covers in the trunk with the other components? This is a 2007 CLK convertible.

Here is main Teleaid module location.
Also SOS button location to see if you have it.

Alternatively post your vin number and I will check, and send your data card showing all options fitted at factory.

I've got the SOS button so I must have the teleaid. Since I have a convertible would the teleaid unit be located somewhere else?

Not that I am aware.
If it was only convertible or coup, then the document would make that clear.
I think the "4" variant is the convertible, and "3" variant is the coup, but not really sure.
At least this would explain the fitting of GPS but no navigation.

If you post your VIN number I will check your options, and get the most valid documentation.

All documents are available in WIS ASRA.

This is the only document i can find showing the teleaid location.

Do you recognize this location? It looks like in the trunk, just behind seats under the carpet.

I pulled the head unit out to check my GPS cable connection (it was connected) I pulled it off and replaced it and the GPS worked. Whatever it takes, I'm happy to have the nav working.
