Should I add fluid to my dry battery H7
Battery question so my battery was completely dead. I went to charge it and it didn’t really come back that well. Did these batteries take distilled water or they considered a dry battery and you don’t add anything to it

Most car batteries are sealed now. And unless you catch a failing battery really early it's unlikely you'll bring it back to 100% health. Is there a date on it? They don't last forever. I'd probably bite the bullet for a new one but get it from a specialist and have them check the alternator too.

That information I already know I used to be a mechanic what the question was is are the AMG batteries that have a cloth like material inside a dry battery or a wet battery? I know how to test the battery for voltage.
I know how to test a battery for Cranking amps. The question was and remains. What do you do when you open the caps to these type of Mercedes batteries and they look dry inside

AGM batteries are intended to be maintenance free. Their chemistry differs from conventional flooded cell lead acid batteries. Adding distilled water (if that's even possible) is not a solution. If the battery won't hold its charge, it's time for a new one.

Just so everyone knows here the battery is fairly old. I’m gonna say at least 10 years old it’s now a spare battery for my boat. That’s why I’m just asking. Are these a dry or wet battery. I’m using this to run. Auxiliary power radio radar stupid crap. It’s not for starting a vehicle.

No, basically the scenario goes that last winter. I was a little concerned about the CLK battery, which is the H7 and it was still really strong and good and I got another one at AutoZone for a very good price. So I save this one for a while in the basement kept the trickle charge on it. Well, the other day I took it to run a compression test on a boat engine and, she didn’t have much in her. And I was pretty surprised because the car had plenty of energy winter.
So my first thing to do was say OK well, maybe she’s just a little dry how these batteries work are they a gel bat which I knew they’re not because those are very expensive
So I figured there it’s dead and not charging up because it’s dry. Back in the day whenever we saw a battery that was low we would just add some distilled water to it and run the car for about 15 minutes and you’d be good to go. It was a lot better than it was.
