Trouble with power trunk
I am having trouble with the power trunk function in my ‘08 CLK coupé.
Whenever I press the button to close my trunk, all it does is buzz and rattle like hell. However, it closes just fine when I give the trunk a little push.
I’ve taken a video from the inside, so you can see how it slips until I give it a push:
I’ve read the fault memory of the TLC, and there are two codes present:
- 9011 The supply voltage of the control unit is too high (overvoltage) (If no customer complaint exists, the fault can be erased)
- 9402 Relay ‘Close trunk lid’ does not switch
So far I’ve tried:
- Taking out the whole mechanism, cleaning it and re-greasing it
- Opening up the control module and checking it for visual damage
- Unhooking the arm from the potentiometer and playing around with the potentiometer while trying to get the trunk to close
As far as I know, this motor and control module were also used in the 211 and 219.
Has anyone else had this problem before? I’ve spent a good amount of time on the web trying to figure out this issue.
