Steering wheel questions
I have a 2004 55 and love it except for the steering wheel: It’s slick and glossy. I have a few questions:
1. It feels and looks like the steering wheel is leather but has a coating on it that seems vinyl-ish. Is it treated leather, vinyl, some other coating?
2. Have any of you had similar issues? If so, what did you do to improve the steering wheel feel?
Thank you!

It could well be just mucky. 20 years of accumulated ick.
Try one of those magic sponges on it. Place a cloth over your knees while sat in the driver's seat and gently work the damp sponge around the steering wheel. Don't go mad because they can damage the leather if you rub too vigorously. If you haven't done this before you'll see how much dirt is removed.
I've done this a few times on older cars and the wheel normally returns to a matte, fresh leather feel.

There are no chemicals in them and you just lightly dampen them with water. They're made out of a resin foam and are slightly abrasive. Use them with a light touch and they're fine on the steering wheel leather.
