Auxiliary Input
I just bought a nice little 1/8" stereo jack to hook up my iPod to my new CLK and am trying to sort out my cable situation. Is there an easy way to get the cable to go from the glove compartment to the ashtray from the back? Any other suggestions on hiding the cable? Thanks.

im in the same situation its kind of tough lol. Anyhow what i do is bring the ipod near the shifter then i close the glovebox on the wire, it doesnt look horrible and it works well with changing the songs you just have to look down for a sec (be careful)
enjoy it i know i do!

ok... i've researched this a bit and here's what i've come up with.
3 good charging/line-out solutions for those of us w/aux inputs:
Monster Ultra-Low Profile Charger for iPod
ipod lounge review
pros: black (looks better w/common interior colors), compact design
cons: line-out is right on plug to ipod
Belkin Auto Kit
ipod loung review
pros: line-out is on charger, automatically pauses ipod when car is shut off
cons: built-in amplifier (defeats the purpose of using the line-out), white
SiK imp
ipod lounge review
pros: normal line-out
cons: white, two wires from adapter
based on what's important to me, i'm going with the monster charger. it doesn't compromise sound and looks better than the rest.
now, on to how you'll mount this in the car:
cup holder solutions:
belkin tunedok
griffin podpod
review
non-cup holder solutions:
arkon mount - cm625
gooseneck that attaches to passenger seat bolt
proclip mounting system
mount
holder
i think i might go with the arkon mount b/c i definitely don't want to give up my cup holder. the proclip is a lot more expensive too.
hiding as much as possible:
this is where i'm lacking info. any help would be greatly appreciated. i don't know if there is a way to route the wire from the glove box behind the dash and get it to come out somewhere around the center console. if somebody does know, please post a reply.
to hide the cig adapter, you can buy this one from radio shack and hide it under the center console. again, i don't know if it's easy to put anything under there or behind the dash.
