Multipule Electrical failures
SYMPTOMS:
1) Nothing on dash lights-up and speedo/tach/temp/fuel gauges inop
2) Auto headlights come on in daytime
3) Temp control reset to Celsius (From Fahrenheit)
4) Top wont go down (acts like it would go up)
wipers, mirror controls, seat heaters, windows, locks etc all work.
I haven't confirmed that all the fuses in driver-side panel have power.
Does anyone have a copy of the fuse assignment chart or possibly know which items are on a common fuse?
any help is appreciated.

I connected my cheap OBDiI dongle and the code I got was P0600. (A serial data failure).
I have also discovered my turn signals are non-functional.
I'm still looking for a common item that could cause all the failures.
I drove a coulpe of miles and noticed the information area circle had turned white and could barely read the information.
I put it in drive and the circle turned red and I had Check Engine, ABS and Temp lights.
I drove the 2-1/2 miles back home and disconnected the battery ground. (In case the system needed to be reset. 45 min later I reconnected and the dash is , again, non-functional.
I noticed that when I remove fuse 42, the clock doesn't chatter around and return to 12:00 like normal, but there is 12v through the fuse.
In 10 days, I need to drive this car 1200 miles for work, and without at least a gas guage, I won't be able to make it.
help.
Took it to the MB dealer this morning and had them take a look at it. They came back with "The instrument display is bad" $2,600 plus labor!
I asked why the display would stop the fuel level sending units to fail ( my OBDII reader says 63% remaining fuel when I ran out of gas and when it was full) and stop the convertible top from opening, but not closing. He went back to ask the service manager.
Service manager said it sounds like fuse problems. Cleaned several fuses on rear SAM and it started working! $575 for diagnoses (mis-diagnoses) and labor of cleaning fuses.
I took picture of dash working

I drove off, and got a couple of blocks and the center info faded out to white.
Taken at a minute later at1540
I went back and the service manager said that it still may be the display going bad. At least I have fuel indicator and temp. So I can make my trip to my California North Pole Sunday. Speed info I can get from My GPS or WAZE.
What say you, oh experienced ones? Display or something else?
All I have are driving lights and fogs. I can flash high beam, but no high or low beam headlights. They don't work in either AUTO or manually switched.
Any one know of a fuse that controls headlight functions
