Tinting problem...

I went to a reputable detail place to tint my 2004 CLK-320 coupe. The guy there was very knowledgeable and he told me that it's not easy to apply tint film to a CLK. The windows groove of a MB was very tight and he showed me that the inside grooves had no felt. He told me because of the absence of felt, the tint might scratch the windows.

He told me that he could not give me the regular 5-year warranty like to the other customers.

Is there any reason that there's no felt in the inside groove? I saw other MB in the street with additional tint, how did they do it?
