Trunk ket
The trunks mechanical key for a '98 CLK Coupe turns both left and right. Which direction unlocks the trunk and is there a specific way to use they key to do that, quarter turn , half turn ,etc.. My key turns freely in either direction but doesn't see to affect the lock. It worked (last summer) when I was getting familiar with the car but I think I've forgotten exactly how this operates. Thanks

My 2007 CLK convertible key turns to the right I think. You can feel the spring pressure when it unlocks. On my drivers door it turns but nothing happens. I think something has become disconnected inside the door. It sounds like you might have the same problem.

It was the quarter turn to the right that worked for me. I knew I had done it previously but had forgotten exactly how. The narrow key doesn't make it easy to hold or turn but it does work. There is also no internal trunk release on this model so it a bit of a dilemma when it doesn't open. Thanks
