Air intake blues

Good day all, I am looking for a new/used air intake assembly for the drivers side of my 2009 CLK 550. I can't find any anywhere in the US. I wonder if somebody has an idea of a workable retrofit or an alternative.

Oh man I hate to break it to you, but they don't exist anymore. The part has been discontinued for quite some time. And the design was absolutely terrible since it sits on top of the oil separator which gets so damn hot. I replaced both about 7 years back with the passenger one has still holding up fine, but the driver side side suffered from the same problem after 5 years, the plastic accordion part falling apart and creating a nice large hole for hot air to get in. The only option I found was below. The guy makes them for the 2010-2011 E550 with the M273 like our engine, but the intake hoses are a little different, so these don't work perfectly on ours. I bought both the driver and passenger side pieces, but ended up using the passenger side one for the CLK550 driver side. It only comes with the back portion so I had to break my original one, keeping the kevlar mesh as well as the front mounting portion. The problem is it still slides off from the back at the airbox. The original hose has a locking portion that mounts onto the airbox, but these just slide up and off the kevlar part. So I decided to cut the back part of the original hose, mount it on the airbox, and slide the new piece over. It works better, but still manages to slide off now from the part that mounts onto the airbox.

Well, thanks. I'll contact that person but, you say you installed the passenger side unit you got from this person on the drivers side, but how did you make it fit?
If there is a solution I'll go for it. Many thanks.
