CLK Restyling for June 2005???

Hi,

I just read in a magazine that in June 2005 the CLK will see a big restyling and it will look like the new CL. Is tihs true, is it confirmed?
Where can i get photos or pics from the new restyled CLK?

Thanks in advance

W209
The w209 model just came out in 2003. I doubt there will be any restyling anytime soon.

Actually the 209 came out in 2002 ! I believe it WILL be 2006 before the restlye which will essentially be the same car with squarer , CLS type front lamps.

It's been written about in several magazines recently - the latest one being Mercedes Enthusiast in the UK that says there will be some styling changes (probably minor valance updates and new wheels I expect - just guessing) and new engines: 3.5V6 and potential for new V6 turbodiesel to make into the car.

Yes I've just read that article last night !!

So June 2005 and it DOES say a "few styling changes" so I reckon its grille, headlamps and bumper !

Pity to change so much so soon, unless they just do bumpers and wheels only as the interior is fresh they'll hardly change that !

No the mag didn't show any picrtures. It was literally a one liner re the CLK whilst talking about other additions to the range, the CLS, new ML and R-Class.

I think the picture shown in one of the earlier threads in gonna be accurate !

I guarantee you that there will be no change even CLK63 AMG BS until year 2008. So let's close this thread. Ignore all BS in the magazines since they don't even know what they are talking about. I have a calander when the new models are coming out. CLK is not even in the master plan. Stupid magazines.

The November German car magazine Auto Bild has a full description of the new CL,CLK,CLE and CLS. The article has pictures of them all and a full description of all the new powerplants MB will be offering. The new CLK in coupe form will be a 2007 model released in 2006 and will have the following engine options: a new 3.0 v6, the 3.5 v6,the new 4.5 V8 and the 5.5 V8 (non kompressor). The pictures of the new CLK are very nice, its a similar design with a more cut out side and new CLS type headlights, the new CLK and CL look very similar but the differences are still easy to see. I wish I could scan this article and someone could translate the stuff I can't.

Here's a link to the mag and the article:

Yeah lets ignore the magazines and use a calander as gospel ???

I think the Autobild photos are the same ones we saw here earlier.

To be honest upon re-reading the article in Merc Enthusiast, which since day 1 has been accurate regarding new models, I think the CLK will recieve minor changes as bropa09 suggests it will be only bumpers and wheels, i.e very minor and possibly not affect the AMG style at all. Maybe some additional options but thats it.

The big drop looks like it'll be MY2007 out 3/4's way through 2006 !

The W208 CLK came out as a 98 model and left as an 02 a 5 year life, I would imagine the W209 would be the same...2003-2007.

Ok, i don't know if it's true or not, but just saw in another mag that a CLK facelift is expected for June 2005.
Of course it won't be a new model, but i believe something will change.....

Im liking the autobuild pic, but it loses alot of the classiness that the w209 has IMO.

I Wish MB would have created a 2 door version of the W211. Imagine an W211 E55 with 2 doors. It would have been the nicest looking car MB ever made. (next to the CL of course)

Dude, I've been saying that for years.
When I had my W208 I loved the way it looked like a 2 door W210 E class.
Then I was very disappointed the W209 didn't look like the W211.
Mercedes dropped the ball.
Why make the front end more like the SL?
Oh well....it still kicks ***. I just wish they had a 2 door W211. Now that would kick major ***!
