2004 CLK 320
Center console problem
Just checking to see if anyone else has had the same problem. On my 2004 CLK 320 with auto trans. that is only 4 months old, the plate around the gear selector keeps popping up and every couple of days I need to bang it back down. I just need to hit it a couple of times with my hand and it seems to seat properly, but a couple of days later it is coming up again.
I called the service dept. at my local MB dealership where I had purchased the car, and they told me I need to bring the car in before they will order any new parts to do the repair. That makes it a little inconvenient since they are about 40 mins. away. I hate to make two trips for such a simple problem.
Has anyone else experienced this same problem with the auto trans. CLK?
Otherwise, I think the car is great.
Also, just test drove the new SLK350 a couple of weeks ago, and that is on my wish list for next year. It definitely was a lot of fun to drive.

yep, that happened to mines like 2days i drove it off the lot. i am disappointed by the quality of this car. even my cupholder got messed up. volume. sunroof. alignment pulling to the right. the list goes on. i just got sick of it last week and turning everything back to stock and probably trade up end of the year
