I scratched my rear bumper...

I backed in the wall of a parking garage and I scratched the rear bumper(right side). Not too deep but deep enough that a polish/wax will not help.

I went to my MB dealership and they told me instead of going to the body-shop, I can fix it by a simple color-work. I asked what's a color-work, he told me that they would sand it down and spray-painted the area. The result is almost like a paint job.

I do not understand this. For me, Spray-paint is still a paint job. Does anyone know about this?

I understand but this is recommended by a MB dealership...

Definitely I do not want to paint the whole bumper.

It comes down to how pick you are. If you can live with noticing a slight difference in paint color/texture, then get the "color work". If it would drive you nuts to see ANY difference, then get the whole thing repainted.

leave it be and you will get used to it.... it will end up looking worse if u get the paint work done..... get it done right or don't do it at all.....
